Gobi Gosht Recipe - Cauliflower Stew

Ingredients

1 lb. mutton

1 medium head of cauliflower

1 anise seed

1 large onion

1 medium size tomato

2 small size potatoes

1 tsp garlic paste

1 tsp ginger paste

1 1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

2 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp cumin powder

4-5 black peppercorns

Garnish

2 tbsp coriander

2 tsp green chilies

1 tbsp ginger julienne cut

All spice powder

Instructions

Fry onions in a pressure cooker until translucent. Add ginger/garlic paste, anise seed and mutton. Fry for two minutes. Add spices, tomatoes, and water. If cooking in a pot bring everything to a boil and let it simmer for an hour on medium heat.

In the meantime, blanch cauliflower and potatoes and keep aside.

Slowly release the pressure of the cooker and dry the masala. Now add oil and cook masala for a few minutes until the oil separates from the masala.

Add cauliflower and potatoes and cover the pot with a lid. Let it cook on low flame for 30 minutes or until the vegetables have softened.

Garnish with all spice powder, fresh coriander, ginger and green chilies. Serve with Naan.
